OUR RIVER'S END
She came from far across the sea. In time, became a part of me.
Train rides north for me each week. To see and touch and hear her speak.
Our hearts entwined in love and lust. Two souls grew in love and trust.
Time passed by and passion grew. Exciting love and feelings new.
Ignoring frowns and grasping smiles. Trying hard to mix the styles.
Months and weeks and time exciting. Tigers loving, laughing, fighting.
A river flows both slow and fast but in the end can never last
At once smooth water peaceful blue. Then raging, tearing rocks in two.
We rode the river's length together. Days and nights of stormy weather.
Together one just her and me. On water flowing toward the sea.
Both knowing that the end was certain. Afraid to ever draw the curtain
As the ocean comes to sight. We fear the end, yet know its right.
She came from far across the sea. She will always be a part of me.
Our lovely river deep and blue, did what rivers always do
Sad story of a river's end. My Lin, my love and my best friend.
To Lin
